And the Mural Begins...Session 2

Now that the designers, Ms. Geesey and myself have finished painting the layout for this school years mural, Art Club is ready to begin adding a splash of color.

While some students were working on the mural, other students were hard at work painting the Elementary School recycling bins. We decided to do this to promote recycling and help the fourth grade organize the collection process during the week.

Back to School

Welcome Back. I hope you all had a great holiday break.
Session 1 finished their own sock buddies and also painted the banner for the upcoming 4th Grade Musical: "Assignment: Earth" which debuts next week, Thursday January 16th at UDAES.

Art Club Field Trip 

December 19th to the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg

Student delivered the hand-made sock buddies and cards.
The students also helped the residents make a holiday ornament.

The residents were overwhelmed with happiness from the students visit and thrilled to see the hand-made art given to them.

Santa's Elves Prepare - Session 1

Preparation for the Art Club field trip to the Susquehanna Lutheran Village at the end of the month.
Tis' the season to give to others! What better way then through hand-made gifts! Art Club Members worked hard on a hand-made cards,finished up their Sock Buddies that will be given to the residents. Each Sock Buddy is named and is made with unique, special love and character.

Success!

Mural Status!

I am proud to announce that there will be another Art Club Mural! I opened up the design process to the 4th grade students. They were asked to design a drawing for the mural. The only rules they had was to keep in mind the theme: a positive school community. I chose two winners, Natalie C. and Keira F. their drawings seemed to complement and complete each other. I put their drawings together into one design. How cool to have student art permanently on the school walls!

Mr. Hoover and Ms. Geesey helped me put up the high portion of the mural but the two winning designers stayed after school with me to continue the layout process. Here are some photographs of our progress.
