Pour Painting Session 1

Our last month of Art Club for the school year, boy has time flied by. We went out with a fun project to celebrate all the wonderful creations made this year. Be prepared... today was CRAZY HAIR DAY!

We were inspired by Contemporary Artist, Holton Rower, Pour Painter today in Art Club. Check out the video we watched prior to creating our own pour painted pots.

We used bright spring colored acrylic paint when doing our pour painted pots. The puts were flipped over on a Styrofoam tray. The paint was thinned with water and we used scoopers to pour the paint from the bottom of the pot. The paint fell down the pot and as we poured the colors, interesting designs began to appear.

Glass Fusing Session 3

We FINALLY got our clay animal banks back. YAY!

Now to some creative brain work...

They enjoy having the help of the Middle School Helpers when they design their projects.

Happy results!!

Our glass creations will be fused inside of the kiln. The same kiln that fired our clay animal banks. The heat of the kiln melts the glass that was added on top and will allow the two pieces to be permanently stuck or fused together. The kiln will be shut off at a certain time so that the glass does not melt into a puddle in the kiln.

3. Great Results...

Their glass creations will be fused together during a kiln firing. The hot temperatures melt the glass. The heat is not kept on long and when the kiln begins to cool the glass keeps its creative mold. They will be turned into magnets.

Session 2 & 3 Glaze Clay Animal Banks

 Session 2 & 3 met this week because of Spring Break next week.

After they finished glazing their animal banks they started to design the cover for their own personal sketchbooks.
