Clay Bird Houses

Art Club members made 3 dimensional bird houses out of clay. This was a challenging project but they did a great job. We used a paint bottle as the cylinder shape for our house. We rolled out a clay slab and wrapped it around the paint tube. We couldn't forget the saran wrap so the clay would not stick to the container. We used tracers and cut out a hole for the opening to the birds. We made a cone top and flat bottom. Students decorated their bird houses with different textures and carved designs to make it unique and original.
