Printmaking Professionals

Students have been working hard on their print designs. We were professional printers! They used a linoleum block to carve the negative space from their unique design. We used various sized gauge carvers. They did a few test prints to see what their prints would look like. They then went back and removed more negative space to perfect their design. Their final print was on a drawstring bag that they can wear and use with artistic pride.

Check out the printing process...

We had a great time at the Ned Smith Center for Nature & Learning in Millersburg, PA last week. The kids were fascinated to hear about the history of Ned Smith and all he accomplished as an artist throughout his life. They learned how to keep an active nature journal and how to observe the details of nature around them. What a beautiful location. Thanks Beth for great history and an awesome tour of the Ned Smith gallery. The kids eyes were wide walking through checking out all the art in the museum setting.
